Typical routing

  • Studio sampler chain: MIDI sequencer drives S2000, audio goes to mix/interface.
    • MIDI OUT from sequencer/DAW interface -> MIDI IN S2000
    • Audio OUT L/R from S2000 -> line inputs of mixer or audio interface
    • SCSI CD-ROM/drive -> S2000 for load sample libraries
    • For multiple outputs, add IB208P card and route channels separately
Connection instructions: The examples below show typical signal flows in practice. For specific details (jitter, buffering), see section above.

Notes / service / modifications

  • This unit has RAM expanded to a maximum of 32MB.
  • Without the optional module, only stereo outputs are available; for separate tracks the IB208P is suitable.
  • The OS is booted from a floppy disk, so it is good to have a working backup boot disk.
  • When archiving libraries prefer SCSI media due to faster workflow against floppy disks.
