Typical routing
- Multi-track recording setup: Recording 8 sources simultaneously to DAW
• Install PCI card to PC, connect 19 "rack unit (2m cable)
• Connect resources: Ch1-2 (mic / line switch), Ch3-8 (line level)
• In DAW set ESP1010 audio in / out
• Monitor mix in ESP1010 Panel utility (36-bit digital mixer)
• Record on any channels (ASIO zero- latency monitoring)
- S / PDIF digital recording: Recording of digital signal from DAT / CD player
• DAT coaxial OUT → ESP1010 S / PDIF IN (RCA)
• Lock S / PDIF clock: Control Panel → Clock Source = S / PDIF
• Set the sample rate (44.1 / 48 / 96 kHz according to DAT)
• Record to DAW (16-bit / 24-bit as needed)
- Podcast recording with dual mic input: Two microphone + stereo backing track
• Mic 1 → Ch1 XLR input (mode = Mic, + 48V on)
• Mic 2 → Ch2 XLR input (mode = Mic, + 48V on)
• Stereo track from DAW → Ch3-4 (Line mode)
• Headphone mix in ESP1010 panel (digital mixer)
• Record podcast stereo mix to WAV / MP3

Note

Notes / service / modifications
- Professional audio interface for home studio. Excellent price / quality ratio. Mic preamps are quality, S / PDIF digital I / O is a bonus. The only disadvantage: PCI vs Thunderbolt / USB3 on modern PC. The umbilical cable is robust but oversized.
