Product Description
Sony FXE-120P is a separate Video Editing System designed for linear post-production workflow without PC NLE. Allows control of playback and record decks, Mark In / Out editing points, transitions (mix / wipe), manual protrusion via the T-Bar and accurate image search via Jog / Shuttle control.
Features and functions
- T-Bar for manual fade / prolínky between two sources
- Jog / Shuttle control for frame-actual search on tape
- Mark In / Mark Out workflow for definition of cut points
- Wipe model section for graphic transitions
- Integrated audio mix / fader section for basic blend signals
- Designed for linear analog cut (Betacam SP, Hi8, S- VHS according to connected decks)
- Support for multiple types of timecode: CTL, VITC, SMPTE / EBU (LTC), RCTC, 8for
- Capacity up to 99 EDL records (with PC workflow via EDL-Pro)
- 140 wipe patterns + key modes (Luma / Chroma / PIP)

Typical routing
- Linear A / B cut: Deck A + Deck B to record deck with control over FXE-120P.
• Set source and record deck to machine control chain
• Load source cassettes and specify Mark In / Out points
• Use T-Bar or Wipe Pattern for the transition
• Upload result to master record deck
Connection instructions: The examples below show typical signal flows in practice. For specific details (jitter, buffering), see section above.

Notes / service / modifications
- Retro linear cutting unit; collector and service value at functional condition.
- For modern production, workflow is significantly slower than NLE (Premiere / Resolve), but suitable for analog aesthetics.
- Local HW _ PIC photodocumentation (front / read / top + supplementary read frame) and EN service manual are connected.
- The device has neither DV nor YUV; the strength of the device is robust linear control workflow and timing.
- For the control of the record-holder via the LAN, the optional Sony IS- SX2 adapter is mentioned.
- Dimensions given in source: 42.4 x 13.85 x 43.8 cm.
