How the application works and what it is for
Overview
DiskCloner QT (Windows) is a robust utility for low-level work with disk media. Combines tool strength for bit- by-bit copying with modern LiteWin interface for editing Windows installation media (by TPM, debloat packages, OEM branding).
- Primary purpose: Cloning disks, creating boot USB, editing Windows ISO.
- Application type: Utility system (requires administrator approval).
- Technology: Python, , , DISM (for LiteWin).

Application
DiskCloner QT requires access to physical drives the rights of the administrator.
- From command line:
- Cloning: Select the source (PhysicalDriveX) and the target disk. The application automatically filters out the system disk to protect against unwanted overwriting.
- Image: Supports and files.
Warning: The target disk will be completely rewritten without data recovery. Always "Type Confirm" (overwrite the confirmation text).
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Solution |
|---|---|
| I don't see the disk in the list. | Start the app again as Administrator. The list of disks is updated on start or Refresh button. |
| Access Denied (Failed) | Make sure that another program does not access the destination disk (e.g. Antivirus or Explorer). |
| SHA256 disagrees | It may be a disk or cable error. Try another USB port or slower writing mode. |
The total amount of the funding received shall be reported in column 060.
- Does it support GPT drives?
- Yes, a RAW copy of the sector is being made, so the structure of the partitions doesn't matter.
- Can you create a USB boot with Windows?
- The application offers basic dd writing, but for Windows ISO recommends specialized tools (Rufus) because simple dd often is not enough for Windows installers.
