DrawSchema QT
0.0.0.4g
Primitive drawing tool for schematic sketches (). 32 colors, brush/rubber, rectangle/circle, DnD, BMP export.
What the project solves
DrawSchema QT is a deliberately simple drawing tool for fast schematics and diagrams. They do not try to compete with complex vector editors; immediate work without the direction of layers and large panels is a priority.
How the application works and what it is for
Overview
Draw Schema QT is a lightweight version of the drawing tool for the MFilmDB ecosystem. It is designed for the rapid creation of visual diagrams that can be exported or inserted immediately into other applications.
Extended profile
DrawSchema QT is a minimalist drawing and schematic tool built on . The aim is not to compete with a full CAD, but to allow a fast design of a technical diagram, block diagram, note picture or simple graphic annotation without a complex project.
Drawing area and tools
The application works with its own drawing surface and set of basic tools for fast sketching. The text overlay system and context menu are included directly above the surface to enable basic adjustments to be made without leaving the working space.
Pallets and custom accent
Part of the UI is a larger set of colors and own "My Color" / Window Accent mechanism. The user can thus separate the color of the drawing from the appearance of the application itself and adapt the working environment without changing the content of the scheme.
Configuration and localization
The tool uses persistent configuration and has a locator layer. Setting the layout, appearance and other options may not be entered at each start. README also describes key shortcuts, layout and localization key mapping as part of the application design.
Minimalism as a purpose
The limited range of functions is conscious. DrawSchema is supposed to be a quick "sketch tool" for situations where the idea or involvement needs to be recorded immediately, not to manage a comprehensive vector document. The supported formats and exports are therefore subordinate to a simple workflow.
