LAN Screen Monitor
Agent/Sender + Viewer/Receiver pair for monitoring own computers in LAN: screen snapshots, live image/audio, pairing, recording and more transport modes.
What the project solves
LAN Screen Monitor is a tool for monitoring your own computers in the local network. The system is divided into Agent / Sender, which runs on a monitored computer, and Viewer / Receiver, in which received snapshots or live transmission are displayed. The aim is local operation without dependence on foreign cloud service.
Snapshot a live mode
Besides periodic screenshots, the project counts on live image and sound. The transfer layer is designed to be selected between multiple transports according to the conditions in LAN and to be able to separate simple surveillance from more demanding live stream. Pairing limits the connection to the intended pair of devices.
Record and performance
Viewer can record the transmission for later inspection. Runtime distinguishes between GPU and CPU path and has a fallback for machines where the required acceleration is not available. At the same time, the project is designed to go to distribute as a clean Sender / Receiver runtime without development tests and unnecessary media.
