How the application works and what it is for
Overview
SimpleSampler PS6 is a modern tool for visualization and editing of sound samples. It was created as a light substitute for robust audio editors for "cut and save" operations. Supports real-time rendering of waveforms with millisecond accuracy.
Key functions
- Real-time Waveform: Dynamic rendering using for continuous zoom and navigation.
- No latency editing: Cut, Trim, Silence, Reverse, Gain and Normalize operations.
- Effects: Linear Fade In / Fade Out with adjustable curve.
- Multi-Backend Playback: Automatic fallback between , and .
Extended profile
SimpleSampler PS6 is a light audio editor / sampler designed for quick loading, checking and basic editing of audio files. The project combines a waveform view, editing operations, playback, batch workflow and export to conventional audio formats without the need to launch extensive DAW.
Waveform and editing
The working process is built around the display of waveform and the selection of time periods. The user can prepare the sample, cut the beginning / end, remove the silence on the edges and make additional basic corrections suitable for quick preparation of the sound library.
Export WAV, FLAC and MP3
The output layer distinguishes between the lossless WAV / FLAC and compressed MP3. The format option is part of the export dialogue, so the same modified material can be saved according to the goal - archiving, further editing or smaller distribution file.
Batch processing
In addition to working with one file, SimpleSampler contains batch processing of folders. This is important, for example, in preparing the entire Sample library, unifying volume or applying the same operation to a larger amount of audio.
Audit trail
The application records the actions performed in the audit log and the log can be exported. For audio modifications, it is possible to trace back what steps have been taken over the file, which helps with QA and reproduction of the workflow.
Play and VU meters
Playback layer uses multiple backends / fallbacks according to the available environment. The UI includes real-time VU meters and standard transport control. The goal is to allow the result to be listened to immediately without export to another application.
Practical scenarios
The documentation provides for example for editing podcast, preparation of voice samples, loudness QA, batch standardisation of volume, repair of small glitch and basic frequency trimming. The interface supports Czech / English and persistent settings.
