Thumbnail Maker QT

Overview

Thumbnail Maker QT is a key tool for preparing visual metadata within the MFilmDB ecosystem. It allows for fully automated generation of preview sets for thousands of video files, while ensuring consistent naming and optimized output size.

• MFilmDB Standard: Automatic generation of 6 thumbnails (15%, 30%, 45%, 60%, 75%, 85% length) for each film.
• Intelligent Heuristics: Recognition of component types (e.g. video clips) and automatic reduction of the number of thumbnails (3 instead of 6).
• Parallel processing: Multi-worker FFmpeg engine supporting 2 to 16 simultaneous processes according to CPU performance.
• Offline Parser: Integrated tool for analysis of existing thumbnails and export of their metadata to SQLite / CSV.

Application & batch mode

In addition to graphical interface, the application can be controlled by parameters for mass operations without interfaces:

• Recursive scan: Automatic search of whole drives and search for missing thumbnails.
• Self test Parser: validate whether existing thumbnails are in accordance with the MFilmDB standard.
• Batch Export: Analyses the folder and generates a report on film coverage.

Formats and Conventions

• Naming Convention (MFilmDB): (e. g. ).
• Heuristics: For "clips," "video clips" or "documents" only 3 thumbnails (instead of standard 6) are generated.
• Output: JPG, JPEG, PNG, WebP (according to settings).
